8th grade STEM Exhibition

The STEM Exhibition is a chance for students to learn about a topic they are interested in and to discuss their work with other science-minded professionals.

 

They must design an experiment to investigate a question or problem, or design or develop a new model, computer program, mathematical proof, and so forth. A project based solely on library research is not an acceptable project, according to the Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS).

 

The following are IJAS approved categories:

4. botany                                             12. materials science

5. chemistry                                         13. mathematics

6. computer science                            14. microbiology

7. Earth science                                  15. physics

8. electronics                                       16. zoology
