I am sending out an email now to students and parents of this 8th grade Algebra class to inform you of a Khan Academy unit from the Algebra 1 course that you should work on each school day for at least a full hour (you will be missing a 90 minute class each day). I will monitor your progress - I can access data daily as to your assessment scores, your completion rate, etc.

Algebra Exit Exam practice problems from the packet: 22-29, 31, 32, 34-37, and 40. These were assigned in class, and students were given 30 minutes to begin (while with a sub while Math teachers were in a meeting).

Tonight, you should study by reviewing and practicing, especially the type of problems that you may have struggled with on today's test.

Khan Academy: Log in and select 8th grade and Algebra courses. Use the Chapter 4 lesson names (e.g. Linear equations in one variable; linear equations in two variables; graphing linear equations using intercepts, slope of a line, slope-intercept form, using slope-intercept form to graph) to pull up explanatory videos, practice problems, and quizzes on these topics. Repeat and/or review on Khan if you score below 80% on a quiz, and then retake that quiz.

This entire chapter is a review chapter and we simply continued working on it. Please do the work you need to over the weekend. We will do a Chapter Review in class on Monday.
