7th Grade:
Text: My Brother Sam is Dead OR War Comes to Willy Freeman
Google Classroom Code: q75hat6
Khan Academy Enrichment Code: X57HR7DW
Students are required to complete 20 minutes of Khan Academy per day.
Reagents in ELA Packet should be complete by 3/31.
Writing Assignment: Students are writing an original narrative that should be at least 3 pages long based on a painting of their choosing. (See Google Classroom for specifics)
Due:
Assignment
Choose the painting that you want to use to inspire your story (It must have at least 2 people in it). Make sure you have the title of the painting, the artist's name and when it was painted. If it is not one of the paintings we looked at in class, take some time to carefully observe the painting, identify the mood and make some wondering questions like we did together. Then start planning your story: What type of narrator will your story have? Does your story take place in the moment of the painting or is it focused on what happens next or what happened to lead up to that moment? Make a list of events or perhaps create a plot map to help you when it is time to write your story. You don't have to begin drafting yet but you should be ready to write next week. If you get inspired to start drafting you can.
